It's been so long since I've posted...To sum up the passed time, my highlights of the year was my LA trip to be on So You Think You Can Dance and then to the SYTYCD Tour in Everett (will be in next post)
First of all. A dear family friend, Jennifer May, got tickets to attend the taping of Dancing With The Stars. I was wondering how she got the tickets and she referred me to a website where you sign up to be on a wait list to be selected to go watch. It is not very common that you get chosen. Well, I got chosen on Friday July 3rd to attend the show the following Tuesday. It was hard to find someone who could go with me because it was late notice and I needed someone 21 or older so we could rent a car. I ended up going with Bonnie (Jen May's sister) and we stayed at her friends mom's house. It was soooo fun!
We arrived in LA on Monday. We went to the beach and ate at In & Out Burgers. The next day we woke up early and headed to the studios. We had to hurry there to wait in line because not everyone who has a ticket will get to go in. We got there around 9am and were the 3rd people in line! The ladies in front of us said they'd save our spots so that we could go run around Hollywood and see the town. The bitter sweet thing was that we were there the day of the Michael Jackson Memorial, so we got to see all of the stuff going on. We listened to the memorial on the radio while we drove down Hollywood Blvd, had Sprinkles Cupcakes, and went to Beverly Hills. We also visited the Farah Fawcett star and the MJ star. We made it back by 12 & just had to wait outside until 2.
We got in and were very close to the stage. It was the first week where every couple performs twice. Brandon & Janette were awesome! We were there for the "addiction piece" and got to see my moms favorite piece...the burglar routine where Brandon waved to me right before the cameras started rolling. He even gave me two thumbs up! It was amazing! On our way out we were going through an intersection where we saw Phillip crossing the street! We pulled over and got out to talk to him! He was the nicest guy! We are now Myspace friends! Love him! Sadly, the next night he was voted off the show... :(
What a great experience this was. Thanks Bonnie for accompanying me on such a wonderful trip!
