SYTYCD Season 5 Tour!

This has been the best weekend of my LIFE!

Thursday:
I finally got to meet Sofie Huntington, Bonnie's daughter. She is a dancer and has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in her knee. She was diagnosed in October and has been doing chemo since. She flew down here on and surprised all of the May kids! I went over and met her and hung out for a while. She was so fun to meet. I've known Bonnie for a couple years and have stayed at her house with her family before, but Sofie wasn't there at the time, so we'd never met!

Friday:
I woke up, went to school and then headed over to the May's house to hang out with Bonnie & Sofie & the May family. They had a half day so they got to hang out with us. We took Sofie to meet Rachel (DPA Owner) and then to show her the studio. When we were talking to Rachel, Sofie said "I will NOT let the doctors tell me that I won't be able to dance again....that's not going to happen!" That gave me shivers- she is so strong and inspirational! We went back to the house and hung around making dumb videos of ourselves doing our "voices". It was a funny night!

Saturday:
I went and picked up some eyelashes for Sof. Hers are coming out so I picked some up for her and they looked SO real! Amazing. I headed over to the Mays' as it was time to announce our SURPRISE! I told them to get ready for a night out on the town and that I'd be back at 5 to pick them up. I showed back up at 5 with jewelry gift boxes and we cracked out the video camera to video their reaction. It was 2nd row tickets to the SYTYCD Tour...with BACKSTAGE PASSES that were given to me by Phillip! Clara was shocked and Sofie screamed and then cried. She didn't talk for like 5 minutes- so much shock. She stated that this was the thing she wanted most in life. We then left for the show! We took our seats and freaked out at how close we were! Sofie cried several times during the show from excitement. Brandon waved to me while on stage again...and Sof sobbed during the cancer piece. It was an incredible show. We then waited for the backstage party to start. We felt like all of the dancers were friends with us. Sofie had received a get well poster from the dancers from a different show she couldn't attend. So she made them thank you cards with her ballet picture on it. They were really excited to see her. They were all really nice to all of us. It is hard to believe we met them! SO fun! Best night of our lives! A dream come true!

Getting to see Sofie so happy and excited made my year. I felt like Oprah! :) Helping people truly does touch my heart. I love every part of it. It would've been a fun show without her, but it made it 100 times better to see her enjoy it so much!

Bonnie & Sofie left today (Sunday). I booked my flight to Jackson Hole, Wyoming to see them for a week in December! I can't wait!
